The Enviro-Mark®NZ programme recognises the need for protecting New Zealand’s environment, continually improving our environmental performance and reducing our impact on the environment by preventing pollution.

As part of Fusion’s commitment to continually improving our environmental performance, we have in place targets and objectives in areas which we have designated as being of significant environmental risk.   Currently these targets include reducing our use of aluminium through minimising plate remakes, looking at areas of improvement in our waste streams, and reducing our water and energy use.  

Fusion Print has had great success previously in implementing our targets and objectives and every year we review these targets to ensure we are continually improving our environmental performance.

The Enviro-Mark certification programme has helped Fusion Print to develop and implement an Environmental Management System (EMS) which provides the framework for our business practices and ensures compliance with our environmental policy.  Our EMS is a comprehensive document which includes the requirement for stringent monitoring, measurement, internal audits and reviews.  

One of the requirements of Enviro-Mark is an annual external audit.  An audit is required to move up each level, and our last external audit was in December 2010, when we were certified to Diamond level Enviro-Mark.  Even though we have now reached the top level of certification, we will continue to be audited yearly to ensure we are accountable to the standards set out by Landcare Research for the Enviro-Mark programme.
